For the first 20minutes both teams worked hard to establish territory, Horden probably just edging the possession and chances. Then it was a case of 20minutes, 5 goals and it was all over bar the shouting before the interval.
In the 26th Roy Allen flicked the ball on to debutant Willy Crew who lobbed the Brandon keeper from 30yards, opening Hordens' account. It then took Roy Allen only six minutes more to add to the tally after some good build up play he touched the ball to the side and hit on the half volley 2-0. Just a minute later Darren Atkinson sped onto a good through ball and coolly slotted the ball past the outstretched Wilson. In the 41st minute Ellison saw his looping shot sail just wide and then when Philip Ross was brought down in the area in the 42nd, Mark Stephenson stepped up to convert the penalty 4-0. The final goal for the Colliers came just on the half time interval, a ball from the right found Craig Ellison who squared it to Atkinson and he rifled home a great shot.
The second half saw all three of Hordens' substitutes get a run out and a fairly flat performance after the excitement of the first. It could have been more convincing and a careless mistake in defence on the 60th minute saw Brandons' Tim Bowman get some consolation but a disappointment for the home side not to keep a clean sheet
