We really are on a rollercoaster! We win one, we lose one, and so it continues. This was a lack lustre performance for which we were punished by a big, physical side. Ryton took first blood after only 12 minutes when Horden were totally exposed at the back. In the 24th minute Winter punched well to clear the Horden lines, he was then called into action again and pulled of a save in th 38th minute. Roy Allen had a chance to level the score in the 42nd after some good play, but lost possession with a fancy flick. In fact the story of the half was that every move we seemed to put together was broken down by poor skills; awkward first touch or weak passing.
In the second a phenomenal point blank save from Winter in the 53rd minute was crucial and then when both Horden centre halves ran into each other the door was open for a Ryton shot, Winter pulling off a one handed save only for the oncoming Walton to side foot the rebound. 0-2. The substitution of Shekoni in the 59th min had an impact as his shot in the 60th was just high and he was unlucky with a penalty shout in the 64th shortly before Atkinson rattled the bar with a long range shot. In the 65th a corner from Atkinson bobbled around and eventually the back heel from Shekoni saw it go in 1-2. Again exposed though in the 85th in a 2 on 2 situation, Stephens outpaced by Shaw could only watch him score Rytons third.
